Service Crew & Volunteering

Join the Team!

Kent Scout's activity centre at Lower Grange Farm is run by an amazing team of volunteers but there's always room for more! Since we acquired an extra 30 acres of land we have developed big plans for the future, so now is a great time to get involved. Whatever your skills - why not share them with us at Lower Grange Farm? Opportunities can be regular weekly sessions or ad hoc and special events and there are more details below. To find out more email volunteering@lowergrangefarm.org.uk

Working Parties

Lower Grange Farm runs working parties once a month to help maintain and improve the site. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved if you have a bit of spare time on your hands and want to make a difference. Maybe you're looking for something to do as part of your QSA or DofE? Or you quite simply want to just give back.

The days run from 9.15am until approx. 3.30pm. Bring gloves and your refreshments. More details from ken.ridgway@kentscouts.org.uk

Tuesday Active Support

Join the volunteers who actively support Lower Grange Farm each Tuesday morning from 9am to 1pm.

Tasks include planting, weeding, repairing and much more - whatever skills you have this is an opportunity to put them to good use.

New volunteers always warmly welcomed and you'll get to know the whole team over the morning coffee break. For more information or to arrange a date to come along email ken.ridgway@kentscouts.org.uk

Programme team

To help us to design and deliver new activities and events, we would like to expand our team. Users of the site include schools, families and corporate customers as well as lots of Scouts and youth groups.

Facilities

We have a strategy for our site and need help with the design, planning and day to day maintenance of all the fantastic buildings, activities and land. So whether you have ideas about how you can help or maintenance skills to share we'd love to get you involved.

Wedding & conferencing

Did you know that local businesses and organisations regularly use Lower Grange Farm for meetings? Well they do, and around 8 times each year couples take over the site to celebrate their wedding day in our beautiful 18th century barn. Our volunteers look at ways to develop our offering to keep up with customer and market demands, and continue to make every user's experience second to none.

Fundraising

As well as volunteers we need funds to make our fantastic plans reality. If you are interested in writing funding bids or have creative fundraising ideas that could help us we'd love to have you on the team.

Activities

Our activities team are a huge part of our day to day running of our adventurous activities. We offer qualifications from national governing bodies and training from industry professionals. Our team is a family that offer adventure to so many young people throughout the year, supporting the growth of our centre. Find out more.
